Chunmei Cao, Research Fellow of the Research Center for Child Development and Disease (RCCDD) under CAMS (or Capital Institute of Pediatrics), conducted a study suggesting that SRSF1, induced by an injury, promotes the migration and proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells and endothelial cells by activating the p53 family member D133p53. The research findings entitled as “SRSF1 promotes vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation through a D133p53/KLF5 pathway” was published online in the Nature Communications on August 11, 2017.
